ACC Joins Lawyers for Civil Justice for CLO Sign-on Letter

ACC helped organize more than 130 companies signing on to a letter to the Federal Civil Rules Advisory Committee opposing a proposed amendment to Rule 30(b)(6) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The new amendment would burden organizations and the in-house legal departments that are involved in preparing the 30(b)(6) witnesses who participate in depositions. The proposal adds a meet and confer requirement to the rule that might give the party noticing the deposition the ability to influence the choice of the witnesses, unsettling the well-grounded law that the responding organization selects its own witnesses.  ACC worked with Lawyers for Civil Justice on the letter.
