ACC & Iowa Chapter Comment on Proposed Registration Rules for In-House Counsel

ACC and its Iowa Chapter submitted comments on October 14th to the Iowa Supreme Court which generally support proposed reforms to registration rules for in-house counsel, but requesting improvements to the proposals which inadvertently identify in-house counsel as “second-class citizens on the bar”.

These include limits to the types of pro bono services in-house counsel can provide to indigent clients, and requiring a pro hac vice process before in-house can represent their clients in court or before tribunals.
