On September 17, 2014, ACC, Corporate Pro Bono and ACC’s Ohio Chapter submitted a letter to the Ohio Supreme Court to consider a proposal that would broaden the permission for non-locally licensed in-house counsel to practice pro bono on behalf of those in need. The Ohio Supreme Court published a proposed amendment for comment, which liberalizes corporate counsel’s rights to practice pro bono. You can find the proposed changes here. The amended rule would allow a lawyer in good standing in another jurisdiction to provide pro bono legal service in Ohio, so long as she is registered in compliance with Gov. Bar R. VI, Sec. 6.
